Although Ziploc zipper bags are convenient and easy to use, helping you to store food and other non-foods easily and keep your refrigerator clean, Ziploc zipper bags are made of plastic, and Stella Totino, author of the cooking website Simply Recipes, does not like to use this non-economy method to reduce food waste, so he began to study how to use zipper bags repeatedly.

To this end, Tottino asked Ziploc, a fresh container brand, for repeated use of tucked bags, and asked Martin Bucknavage, a food safety expert in the Department of Food Science at Binzhou State University.

Tottino pointed out that Ziploc employees told her that all types of chain bags under Ziploc can be safely reused because Ziploc chain bags are "made from high-quality materials, sufficiently solid and can be reused."

Whether the zipper bag can be reused depends on what food is installed

Although expert Barknavac said it is best to only reused zipper bags that are decorated with dry food items such as pretzel and candy, whether it can be reused is actually the food contained in the bag.

Ziploc experts recommend avoiding repeated use of bags of raw meat, fish, eggs or allergic foods; Bucknavac agrees, because it is difficult to completely eliminate microorganisms, especially after the raw meat and fish foods were prepared; he said, "This type of food contains pathogens."

One important point should be paid attention to when reusing the bags

Baknavac also emphasizes that families with allergies should pay special attention to allergens when reusing the bags. It is recommended that "cheese and agricultural products should be especially careful about easy-to-drink foods containing decay microorganisms, especially if these foods have a certain degree of change."

If the bag is not used to prepare raw meat, fish or eggs, before reusing, you should carefully wash the inside and outside of the bag carefully and dry the bag from inside to the outside before re-storing any food.

Ziploc pointed out that if there is a hole, tear or pierced body, it cannot be reused; if any meat products or allergens are installed, it should not be reused; if it is not sure, it may be discarded.
