According to the Sun, Tottenham star Pape Saar spent thousands of pounds to pay electricity for a village in his hometown of Senegal.

Pape-Sal reiterated his deep connection with his homeland and promised to bring electricity to this remote island community.

When visiting the island of Fayaco, about 100 miles from Dakar, the capital of Senegal, Pape Saar said: "The work on electricity is already underway."

"I hope Fayaco will soon shine like its people. I love this village and I am proud of the people here."

In addition to helping solve the power problem, Saar also donated educational supplies such as laptops, printers and solar panels to local schools. He also provided building materials for the health center that expanded the village.

Sar is following in the footsteps of his idol Mane, who has donated £500,000 to build a hospital in his hometown of Bambari.

The entire Fayaco community, including local leaders, gathered to express gratitude to Pape-Sal, whom they proudly call "the son of the village."

Tottenham signed Sar, who was then 18 years old from Metz in 2021, and they then showed extraordinary vision to allow him to continue to develop at Metz for the rest of the 2021-22 season.

Sal joined Tottenham Hotspur a year later and made his Premier League debut in a 0-2 loss to Villa on January 1, 2023. Since then, he has played 81 league games for Tottenham and won the championship with the team in the Europa League final last season.

At present, Saar will return to Hottersper training base for preseason training under the leadership of new coach Frank.
