Stoke City officially announced that it would sign 19-year-old goalkeeper True Grant from Manchester City, and the two sides signed a contract for three years.

True Grant had previously trained at Derby County youth training camp and transferred to Manchester City at the age of 12. Two seasons ago, he was selected to Manchester City's UEFA Champions League roster.

It is worth mentioning that True Grant is the son of former Stoke City player Lee Grant, the celebrity who won Stoke City Player of the Year. Last season, True Grant joined Buxton Club on loan as an adult player for the first time, making a total of 40 appearances and helped the team successfully enter the English National Northern League upgrade play-offs.

Stoke City sporting director Walters said: "True Grant showed outstanding strength at Manchester City and on loan to Buxton. He is considered one of the most promising young goalkeepers in the UK. Goalkeeper coach Darren Bechett is very eager to recruit him and form a strong goalkeeper lineup with other goalkeepers. His father Lee Grant was once a highly respected player in Stoke City and is also a very outstanding person. We are very happy to welcome True Grant to the Stoke City family, and believe he knows the significance of wearing this jersey."
