English champion Wrexham announced that he had officially signed Welsh striker Browderhead, the team's 9th signing this summer.
Wrexham Club issued an announcement on its official website stating: "Wrexham is pleased to announce that we have signed Blaudehead from Ipswich. The transfer fee is not made public and is currently awaiting registration and international licensing. The Welsh international and Wrexham signed a four-year contract until the end of the 2028-29 season." It was previously reported that Blaudehead's transfer fee was £10 million.
Browderhead, 27, entered the youth training at his hometown club Wrexham since childhood, but switched to the Everton youth training in 2008. While playing for Everton, Browderhead made his first-team debut in the 2017 Europa League, and made his Premier League debut in the 2020-21 season. However, Browderhead was rented out by Everton many times and helped Sunderland advance from the League One to the Championship in the 2021-22 season. In January 2023, Browderhead transferred to Ipswich, ending his 15-year career in Everton.
In the second half of the 2022-23 season, Browderhead scored 8 goals and assisted 6 times in the League One, helping Ipswich to advance to the Championship. In the 2023-24 season, Browderhead scored 13 goals and assisted 4 times in the Championship, helping Ipswich advance to the Premier League. Last season, Browderhead scored 2 goals in the Premier League 18 times, and Ipswich was finally relegated to the Championship.
Browderhead said after signing: "I have been waiting for a long time and I am very happy to join the Wrexham Club. Confidence will be the most important thing for us this season. We hope to bring everyone in North Wales to our home court and show our confidence in us."
Browderhead coach Phil Parkinson said: "I am very happy to welcome Browderhead to the club. He is a locally born boy and he really wants to play in his hometown club. We are all looking forward to working with him in the next few seasons."
