"Team" reported that Manchester United legend Gary Neville is facing fierce attacks from some British conservatives because of his political stance, and has been denounced as a "traitor".

Neville previously posted a video saying he removed the Union Jack flag from his house to protest against its use by "a bunch of angry fifty-something white men" to "plunge the country into infighting."

The move immediately aroused the anger of hardline conservatives. A group called "Britain First" publicly displayed a banner saying "Gary Neville is a traitor". During the match between England and Wales, there were even shouts of "Gary Neville is stupid" rang out at Wembley Stadium.

In addition, the game of Salford, a team co-owned by Neville, was also interrupted by protesters waving flags and breaking into the stadium.
