The Sun reported that former Arsenal youth training Billy Vega suffered a brain injury and had been placed in an inducible coma.

21-year-old Billy Vega, now plays for England's seventh-level team Chichester City, and he suffered a serious injury against Yungit.

The club officials issued a statement saying: "Billy suffered a severe brain injury and is currently undergoing inducing coma in the intensive care unit and received the best treatment possible. It is too early to say what the result will be. Even if everything goes well, there will be a long road to recovery."

They posted another post after the statement, saying: "Love from the entire Chichester City family, Billy."

Vega was injured within 15 minutes of the game, and it was reported that the injury was caused by a collision with the hard edge of the field, not a physical collision. According to Sussex World, he was treated by an ambulance before being taken to a hospital in London by air ambulance. After the incident, the game was cancelled.

Vega's experience also sparked sympathy, one fan said: "It sounds traumatic to all the people involved, a terrible event. Send blessings to the player, his family and everyone in the club." Another fan added: "It sounds terrible to send blessings to Billy."

Billy Vega spent his youth career there after joining Arsenal at the age of 14. He was promoted to the U21 team at the Gunners, and during this time he was loaned to Derbyshire U21 and Eastbourne. He left the club in 2024 due to failure to advance to the first team.
