BBC issued a statement saying that despite Colewell's serious knee injury, Chelsea is still unwilling to enter the central defender's recruitment market.

23-year-old Colville underwent surgery for an ACL injury this week, but the Blues have not decided to find a replacement. Coach Maresca told DAZN after the team's 2-0 victory over Leverkusen, saying that replacing Colewell is a priority, but the club's plan is still focusing on internal potential.

The currently injured Badiacile (expected to return in September) and young player Achimpon are eager to get more playing time. Although the 19-year-old Achimpon has attracted the attention of many Premier League teams, Chelsea has clearly stated that he refuses to sell this youth training product with high internal evaluation. The possibility of him being out of the loan after Colewell is injured is also very low.

The team currently has many central defenders such as Tosin Adarabioyu, Wesley Forfana, Charoba and new aid Harto, while Renato Vega is still on the saleable list and is training away from the first team with members such as Sterling and Chilwell.

Chelsea's possibility of entering the transfer market is slightly different, but the premise must be to successfully sell Chaloba, which is their only defender who is willing to let go, and there are also exciting opportunities for signing in the market. But Charoba himself did not take the initiative to seek to leave the team, although there are still variables in the future.

In extreme cases, Rees James and Cucurella can also play emergency guest roles in central defenders. Chelsea's two primary targets for signing are still Manchester United winger Garnacho and Leipzig midfielder Simmons. The club has started initial contact with the two players, but any potential signing depends on the progress of negotiations with the two clubs, as well as the possibility of departure of forward double stars Jackson and Nkunku, both of whom missed the club's first preseason game.
